Arnsdorf Women: Helena Vestergaard

Helena Vestergaard is a self confessed nature enthusiast and mother of two. We admire Helena for her advocacy around mental health and transparency through her Instagram account.

On the journal, we speak with Helena on dressing for her mood, finding inspiration in her children and what her perfect morning looks like.

Q. What inspires your style?

A. My mood definitely inspires my style. If I’m feeling frisky or tired or energetic it will always come out in what I’m wearing.

Q. When did you start to feel your own personal sense of style anchor in yourself?

A. When I was quite young I think, at age 12/13 I was already interested in thrift shopping and putting together quirky outfits that I would come up with, I never really followed trends I have just always liked what I like.

Q. What are you drawn to in a garment?

A. As I’ve gotten older I am more drawn to quality than anything. A nice fit and cut and a beautiful fabric.

 Q. What does your perfect day look like?

A. Wake up, coffee and eggs, off shore breeze, perfect waves, happy kids and no phone contact.

Q. What are you reading at the moment?

A. Dirt town by Hayley Scrivenor.

Q. Do you have a favourite artist who constantly inspires you?

A. My children. They are so into art and music and keen to play every instrument they can get their hands on it’s so fulfilling and inspiring to help them achieve their goals.

Q. Tell us about an exhibition, movie or artwork you saw recently that moved you?

A. I watched Marcel the shell with shoes on recently and it was so charming and beautiful and had so many underlying moments it really inspired me to not take the world so seriously and enjoy the simple things even more.
